The National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists with the support of the Swindon PTSD working group, hosted a one day National Conference on Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) held in Swindon at the Marriott hotel, on the 1st of August 2008.
The aim of the conference was to promote a wider awareness and understanding of PTSD and its affects on those suffering from the condition, and, what can be done to help sufferers.
We are pleased to have had an impressive line up of experts who gave their time freely to talk on the day.
Councillor Steve Wakefield, the Mayor of Swindon opened the conference, and Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove delivered the keynote speech, referring to the government’s position on helping veterans.
The day was split into two parts: The daytime was an open conference where the attendees were mainly professionals with an interest in PTSD. In the evening there was a dinner & cabaret. We were pleased to welcome a wide range of local people to the dinner, including representatives from the Swindon Ghurkha community, and people from around the UK. Cabaret artist Isla St Clair was supported by Pipe Major John Spoore RVM, who was personal Piper to the Queen Mother. International Magician Terry Seabrook performed table magic.
